SCREAM

A year after Sidney's mom is murdered, more murders start to occur. She begins to suspect if these murders are related and tries to find the killer as everyone seems to be a suspect.

Back when it first came out, the film gave a much needed revival to the mainstream horror genre but today its a little too self-referential for its own good.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Paramount Pictures have released Wes Craven's film on 4K UHD physical disc. It features a stunning 2.35:1 Dolby Vision and HDR10 transfer using a H.265 codec at about 54 Mbps. Personally, I have never seen the film look this great on home video format. The main English audio track is a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit), which sounds loud, crisp and clear. Multiples other audio tracks in French, Spanish, German are available. There's also English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Korean, Norwegian, Russian and Swedish subtitles options.

This is a single disc edition that comes with a digital code. There is a couple of extras including an audio commentary track with Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson. "A Bloody Legacy: Scream 25 Years Later" is a new featurette mainly promoting the upcoming sequel, there's a Production featurette, Behind the Scenes and Q&A with some of the cast and crew. It comes with a slipcover case. Please note that this is the R rated version of the film.
