The Dark Half

A writer's fictional alter ego wants to take over his life... at any price.

Another disapointing film based on a novel by Richard Bachman, who is actually Stephen King's own alter-ego.

Director: George A. Romero
Running time: 122 minutes
Released: 1993

Heaven

A struggling architect, being sued for divorce by his wife and struggling with booze and gambling, finds work remodeling a friend's strip club, the Paradise. There he meets a transsexual stripper who is bothered by accurate, but extremely violent visions of future events.

A masterpiece of storytelling. Based on Chad Taylor's 1994 novel, this has to be one of the hidden gems of 1990s cinema.

Director: Scott Reynolds
Running time: 103 minutes
Released: 1998

Carrie

A shy, friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.

The classic based on the Stephen King novel has great cinematography and musical score but has sadly aged badly.

Director: Brian De Palma
Running time: 98 minutes
Released: 1976

The Mist

A freak storm unleashes a species of bloodthirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.

Smart, effective and slowly building itself to a depressing ending.

Director: Frank Darabont
Running time: 126 minutes
Released: 2007

Nymphomaniac Volume I

A self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating.

A pornographic work of art digging deep into the insatifaction of a nymphomaniac. Funny, disturbing, graphic and without any taboo. To watch with the whole family.

Director: Lars von Trier
Running time: 117 minutes
Released: 2013

Nymphomaniac Volume II

The continuation of Joe's sexually dictated life where her journey of self-discovery leads to darker complications.

More perversion and punishment to a somehow less effective conclusion of this twisted tale.

Director: Lars von Trier
Running time: 123 minutes
Released: 2013

Sleepaway Camp

Angela Baker, a traumatized and very shy young girl, is sent to summer camp with her cousin. Shortly after her arrival, anyone with sinister or less than honorable intentions gets their comeuppance.

An ok 80s slasher with one of the most disturbing ending of all time.

Director: Robert Hiltzik
Running time: 84 minutes
Released: 1983

Spiderman homecoming : cool but not necessarily a superhero film. more teen drama with entirely too much Iron man. Spiderman is his own thing and that's what makes tony's contributions unnecessary. I like it but could've been better. Keaton is great as the villain and I hope he returns in the sequel. this has to be the most ethnic Spiderman ever. Black female love interest, Indian antagonist at school, Samoan best friend, Italian aunt, the shocker was black...kind of. I'm not complaining just an oversight. an odd fact is Spiderman usual sells great on its own but now that they paired him with the Avengers his ticket sells are disappointing. Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy are the major superhero hits this summer.
