While a zombie-virus breaks out in South Korea, a man, his estranged daughter and other passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.

A masterpiece crafted from an brilliant script. So much intensity, great scares, social commentary and even some sad moments makes this the best zombie film since 1985ís Day of the Dead and Return of the Living Dead.

Director: Yeon Sang-ho
Running time: 118 minutes
Released: 2016

I keep seeing this one pop up in Netflix. To compare it to DotD and RotLD, sounds like I definitely need to see it asap!

Watched this one last night. First things first, fast zombies are not my thing. Like, at all. That said, it is definitely one of the better zombie films I have seen in a while. Well made, good societal commentary, good acting, fast paced, and entertaining. A little more CG than I like but not terrible. Pretty tame in the gore department but that's OK. Overall an enjoyable film but nothing truly groundbreaking IMO. I definitely wouldn't put it on par with Day of the Dead or Return of the Living Dead but to each their own.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Its not up there with DAY or RETURN but I found it to be one of the best zombie films since those two. RETURN 3 and DAWN remake were also pretty good.

Return 3 was great! I couldn't stand the Dawn remake though, just not my thing.

For real!? I found the DAWN remake to be a good updated version of the original.

The original DAWN is just one of those films that is not to be fucked with. It is without a doubt my top favorite film of all time. Even if Romero himself had remade it, I wouldn't have liked it. Yes, it is dated and a product of it's time but it just works on so many levels for me. I am also absolutely not a fan of fast zombies or James Gunn (writer) so that didn't help either.

Yes those zombies were really fast in the remake. Indeed, the original DAWN is untouchable.
