Vin Diesel has done a brief video update his official Facebook page with a new video in which he and director David Twohy talk about the proposed third film featuring Diesel's famed anti-hero character Riddick.

Twohy says the film be more along the lines of the first film "Pitch Black" than the second "The Chronicles of Riddick" as the budget is obviously a smaller scale like 'Black'.

Part of the reason for that is they want to maintain the R-rating that 'Black' had in this one. Keeping that higher rating is a "big deal" they want to achieve "at any cost". The plan is to shoot it lean, quickly and they joked that it does feature "seductions".

At last report the plot has Riddick left for dead on a desolate planet fighting for survival against not just alien predators but bounty hunters, yet this chess game is all part of his plan to return to Furya and save it from destruction.

The machine called Riddick is moving along. Slowly. But every so often, Vin Diesel drops in via his Facebook page to tell fans how the threequel is coming along.

Today, however, Diesel found himself at a crossroads. Here's what he wrote, prefaced with a "Grrrrr."

"[David Twohy] the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news. We can start filming this summer. However, there is a catch...in order for us to make a true R-rated film, I must work for scale upfront. Not unlike the Find me Guilty experience (which I wouldn't have changed for the world). Money is always second to art, integrity and spirit...but the real issue is deeper. Can I suspend my life, to momentarily venture to that dark place...called Riddick. Now, I need to hear from Our collective...you."

He later added: "P.s. I am off to another meeting with David, the director of Riddick... to see concept art and discuss the potential schedule."

Coming off of a hit sequel like Fast Five, will Diesel take the pay cut? If you want to see the next film in the Riddick series, head to his Facebook page and sound off!

Filming on "Riddick", the third film featuring Vin Diesel's anti-hero, looks to be starting again shortly after being postponed due to financial issues last month.

TMZ reports that the Montreal studio, whom shut out the cast and crew after studio owner Michel Trudel complained he hadn't gotten paid, has now received their due funds.

As a result Trudel is willing to allow the film to pick up production where it left off. Several members of the crew however still require pay checks, but those are expected to be delivered shortly. Filming on the project will resume on December 28th.

$18.7 millions only for RIDDICK… ouch! The $18.7 million is smack in the middle of the performances of 2000's "Pitch Black" and 2004's "The Chronicles of Riddick," and along lines of expectations. The film also pulled in an additional $7.4 million in several overseas markets.
