There's been so much hype around this movie. At first I didn't care about it one way or the other, but the hype is finally getting to me. I'm also very curious about the constantly delayed Pet Sematary remake.

Yes the hype is HUGE on this one. All the media talk about it. We shall see...

Producer Dan Lin is currently doing press rounds for THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE and has spoken with the Collider web site about some of his upcoming projects, one of the key ones being the film adaptation of Stephen King's iconic horror tale IT. We've long suspected the films would have to be R-rated due to the source material, but there was always a chance the project would be a PG-13. Not so says Lin, saying the new film will keep the darker elements of the original novel that even the mini-series couldn't do:

"It is a rated-R movie. If you're going to make a 'Rated-R movie', you have to fully embrace what it is, and you have to embrace the source material. It is a scary clown that's trying to kill kids. So of course that's going to be a rated-R movie.

The kids are amazing. You very much get a STAND BY ME vibe as far as their camaraderie and the way they joke with each other and that they really care for each other. They do have a scary clown that's taken over the town of Derry, so it's going to be rated R."

The project has always been talked about as a two-part movie, with the first to focus on the kids. During production of the first installment though, not much was spoken about regarding the second one and it seemed like maybe those plans had been scrapped. Lin says the intention is still to do a second one and the production team has not wavered:

"Naturally that's the plan. If you look at the book, it's the part of the book that we have not yet explored. The book we really broke down into two parts. The first part is this movie and if audiences react to this movie in the way we hope they will and I think they will, then we'll be to tell the adult story as well."

As expected, it also means that if the first film bombs then the second one will be quietly abandoned. It also suggests that at least this first entry will be relatively self-contained. Andres Muschietti helms IT which is currently slated to hit cinemas in September.

Stephen King's IT part II: Before it began production, those involved in the new two-film adaptation of Stephen King's IT were always quite clear that it was a two-parter with the kids the focus of the first film and the adult versions of those characters the focus of the second. Production on the first part ran from June to September last year, and there has been little talk of the second part filming from those involved beyond comments that it is on the way.

Now, a new listing on My Entertainment World suggests that shooting on that second part is slated to begin March 17th under the secret title "Accordion". The filming location is listed as Toronto where the first part was also shot. The story is set in a small town in Maine, where seven children known as The Losers Club come face to face with life problems, bullies, and a child-eating, sewer-dwelling monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard).

Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Hamilton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor star as the kids in the first part with the trailer for it coming shortly ahead of the first film's release on September 8th. The second part hasn't scheduled a release date yet. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, and Barbara Muschietti are producing both films.

Today comes word via producer Seth Grahame-Smith that Stephen King has seen the new IT and passed on a message:

"Steve asked me to pass along that he saw a screening of IT today and he wanted to let everybody know that they should stop worrying about it as the producers have done a wonderful job with the production."

Production wrapped in September last year on the first part of IT which Andres Muschietti is helming and which is rumored to begin production shortly on the second film in Toronto. The first IT hit cinemas in September.

Im not a fan of remakes, but I must admit that im looking forward to this. Especially after I watched the trailer. I think original was good, but flawed.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the poster and new photos (on the NEWS page) from Andres Muschietti's film adaptation, which opens September 8th. The story follows a group of teenagers in Derry, Maine who are attacked by the malevolent force in the guise of a clown named Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) who takes the form of your worst fear. The first of a two-film saga, this focuses on the teenagers whereas the second will follow them as adults thirty years later.

I'm loving the banter between the kids, it feels really natural and fun. I really cannot wait for this! Beer
